Why VISTA
Emergency response has always depended on rapid recognition
Responders identify the building, the material, the weapon, the hazard, the patient condition, the energy source, and the likely failure modes before committing personnel and resources.
Modern vehicles increasingly complicate that process
Two vehicles that appear nearly identical may contain fundamentally different propulsion systems, battery configurations, electrical hazards, shutdown procedures, structural features, or emergency-response considerations.
That distinction matters
At an emergency scene, uncertainty is itself a hazard.
We believe safety-critical information should not be difficult to find, dependent on close inspection, or discovered only after responders have entered the hazard area.
The responder community deserves better visibility into the systems it is expected to confront.
