Joseph "JB" Bercovic — Responder Safety & Strategy

Joseph Bercovic brings more than two decades of experience in emergency management, hazardous materials response, and CBRNe operations, including operational leadership within a Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Team.

His background includes leading and supporting complex CBRNe response missions, hazardous-materials incidents, major national security events, and high-profile interagency operations involving local, state, federal, military, and public-safety organizations.

His work has required rapid threat assessment, technical decision-making, coordination across multiple agencies, and advising senior leaders in environments where incomplete information can have immediate consequences for responders and the public.

Joseph has also trained and worked alongside specialized response organizations in the United States and internationally, bringing an operational perspective shaped by real-world incidents, exercises, and consequence-management missions.

At VISTA, Joseph applies that experience to vehicle safety, focusing on a fundamental responder need: giving firefighters, EMS personnel, law enforcement officers, and other emergency personnel the ability to identify critical vehicle hazards before committing people into an incident.
